Very often I leave home and don’t know what I’m going to draw on the beach. I often take the opportunity depending on the weather. I know the tide times on a daily basis and I know when I can go to the beach, the weather then confirms or not that it is the right time. This was the case here and having no drawings prepared in advance on paper, I had to think all the way without success to find out how I was going to transform the beach. It was when I arrived on La Grande Côte beach, which offered me a superb space, that I then launched into the idea of a sand labyrinth. Of course the challenge would have been less interesting, if I hadn’t put in my head that this labyrinth must have absolutely a unique solution. So it was! We just had to think of a little trick so as not to get lost during the design, because the circle containing all the paths, which intersect, is then more than 60m in diameter. It will take me 4 hours to complete this giant game drawn on the sand. I quickly take my shots by drone and go back to the rocks to take a break before leaving. The people around will then appropriate it to wander inside and find the unique solution that leads to the center. A playful beach art, what could be better!
